Deleting your account

There's no delete button — deletion is by email. What gets deleted, what survives it, and why.

There is no self-serve delete button

We're not going to point you at a settings page that doesn't have one. Account deletion is handled by a person who reads the mailbox below.

Email [email protected] from the address on the account. That's the whole request — you don't need to give a reason.

Before you ask#

Cancel your subscription first if you have one, and check you're not mid-period on something you've paid for. Deletion doesn't produce a refund, and the refund policy doesn't refund unused time by default. If you cancel instead, you keep access until the period ends — see cancelling.

Pull anything you still want. Deletion removes your keys, and there's no bulk export, so there's no "download my data first" button to click on the way out. Whatever you've already stored under the licence is yours; what you haven't fetched, you won't be able to fetch afterwards.

Deleting is not cancelling. If you just want to stop paying, cancel — your account, keys and history stay, and you drop to Free. Deletion is the irreversible one.

What gets deleted#

Your account record, and everything hanging off it:

  • Your API keys — all of them, revoked and active alike. They stop working.
  • Your usage history — the per-key daily request counts.
  • Your sessions — every recorded sign-in device.
  • Your auth events — the sign-in audit log.

What survives, and why#

Not everything can go. Being straight about this is more useful than a clean promise we'd have to break:

RetainedWhyFor how long
Billing records — invoices and chargesItalian tax law requires it. We cannot delete an invoice on request, and neither can anyone else. The statutory accounting period — currently 10 years
A post-deletion record — your email, a couple of IPs, and a snapshot of the accountStops delete-and-resignup being a way to reset a free quota forever30 days, then marked permanently deleted
Consent recordsProof of the consent we relied onAs long as we may need to prove it

The post-deletion record is deliberately the narrowest thing that works: it keeps an email address and a couple of IPs, not your account.

You can't immediately re-register with the same email. That address is in a 30-day cooldown after deletion. Sign up again with it inside the window and you'll be refused. This is the anti-abuse measure above doing its job — wait out the 30 days, or use a different address.

Billing records are detached from your identity where they can be, but the invoice itself stays. The privacy policy has the complete retention table, including the reasoning.

It's irreversible#

There's no restore, no grace period, and no undelete. Once the account is gone, the keys are gone, the usage history is gone, and starting again means a new account — after the cooldown, if you're reusing the email.

Your other data-protection rights#

Deletion is one of several rights, and they all go to the same mailbox:

If you want to see what we hold before deciding, ask for the export first. Deletion after an export is still available; an export after deletion is not.
